#12TipsforChristmasCampaigns
Christmas campaigns can be a huge part of a marketing strategy. If you’re selling a product, then it may be one of your biggest sales peaks of the year. If you’re selling a service, such as hospitality, then you want to get those bookings made early in order to plan staffing, purchasing, and financial predictions.
Either way, we often leave the planning of Christmas campaigns far too late, and this could mean missed opportunities for your brand.
It’s for that reason that for the next few weeks, we will be sharing our #12TipsforChristmasCampaigns.
Each week we will be sharing 3 tips, giving you some helpful ideas to start planning your own campaigns, as well as a little creative inspiration too.
To kick things off here’s our first top tip…
#Tip1 – Budget
Christmas campaigns come in all shapes and sizes. From John Lewis ads (which will be planned 12 months in advance with budgets of hundreds of thousands) to Coca Cola, who have the same theme year on year with the hugely successfully #holidaysarecoming campaign. I bet that’s in your head now!
However away from the big-budget ads, there are many, many, successful Christmas Campaigns that don’t cost the earth.
Remember ‘Love is a Gift’ ? A short film is reported to have been created with a budget of just £50. Whilst the video is not selling anything directly, the narrative was so moving that it beat the big-budget brands to the top of 2018 Christmas ad chart.
Also in 2018, Poundland’s naughty elf (with a budget of just £25) went viral and is still viewed even today. I will leave you to Google that one if you haven’t seen it already 😉
Both examples demonstrate that you don’t need a huge budget to make a big impact.
So our first tip to creating a cost-effective, high-impact, Christmas Campaign, is to set your budget. In order to do this, we’ve put together this handy checklist of things that you need to consider in order to set a realistic budget for your Christmas campaign. Click the image below to DOWNLOAD 📁

Once you’ve set your budget, and agreed on this with your team, you will need to think about the timeline to getting your campaign off the ground. We will be sharing more tips on that later in the week.
