If you haven’t been aware that you need video content in 2016 then perhaps you haven’t been online! However it is also true that whilst you may know that you need video for…
- Great branding
- Brilliant SEO
- Good social interaction
- Selling your product/brand
- Positive customer service
…it is often not so easy to understand how to make the most of this amazing marketing channel for your business.
So here are 5 top tips to get you thinking about how you could use video for your business.
Social Media – social media is very interactive, but in a sea of graphics and content you need to stand out. Video does this really well (and gains you a wider reach on Facebook, making your paid ads go further).
On twitter you now have the opportunity to embed 30 second video. This means that as the user scrolls over your embedded tweet the video starts rolling.
Now think about the fact that 90% of Twitter video is viewed on mobile and how that user will interact. For example, they may not have the sound on, so it’s a good idea to overlay your video with a message. See how we did this for Cambridge Roar to help them promote the 2016 event.
On your website – There is no doubt that video on your website helps SEO and search engines will rank you higher for having it. It is also worth noting that Google own YouTube, so get your video created, add to your YouTube Channel, and then embed the YouTube link into your site.
Selling product – create a short video showing how your product works and include this on your website. Done well this increases sales massively.
Once you have this content utilise it on social media. If you are savvy, get a 30sec version with messaging over the top made at the same time, it’s much more cost effective!
Testimonials – get your best customers to give you a short testimonial or review. Again this can be used on your website, or social media and not forgetting to add this into your email marketing too (you won’t be able to embed video here but you can create an animated gif that sends the user to the video). Once again keep these to 30 seconds so that they can also be used effectively on Twitter.
Customer Service – this is particularly valuable when selling products. If you have a frequently asked question then create the answer in a video. Make a prominent link on your website so that customers go there first before picking up the phone!
There are many other ways in which to use video, such as vlogs, case studies and tutorials, these are just few top tips to help you make the most of this vital marketing tool.
One final word of caution, as noted at the top ‘62% of consumers are more likely to have a negative perception of a brand that publish a poor quality video’.
Make sure that you get your video created by an expert, it will support your brand and save you time and money in the long run!
